Question Category : Fever
For the past few months my daughter has been having consistent fevers. For the past two months it's been on a weekly basis for at least one or two days/ per week. The doctors have said it to be infections or viruses and they prescribe medicines and antibiotics. These fevers have also been combined with headaches on most occasions. I am extremely worried and I feel that there is something the doctors are missing
Question Category : Fever
My son is 6 months old. Over the last 2days, the digital ear thermometer (Braun make) is showing 98.7 in left ear and 99.3 in the right ear. Does he have fever? We checked the temperature on ourselves with same results in both ears - so does not seem to be a thermometer defect.

My 3 year old son has had headache and fever 101 F - 103 F for two days now. Doctor said he could find nothing wrong and it must be viral. I am very worried about the forehead ache. When it begins to hurt a lot, he tells me. I notice that his fever spikes at that time and he has also vomited at that time. This has happened four times. He eats, plays and sleeps okay. Do you have any suggestions?

Question Category : Fever
I have a 5 yr. old boy who's been sick for 14 days now. Symptoms are fever (around 100-101), leg and arm pain, stomach pain, headache, vomiting on occasion, and diarrhea. He's been to the doctor twice; the second time was in the emergency room for an i.v. and bloodwork. They haven't found a bacterial infection, they think it's viral. I have to give him Tylenol Motrin every 4 hours or his fever and pain comes back. He has problems with walking because of the pains in his legs. He lies around all day with no energy. Is this par for the course with viral infections? He's never been this sick before and I'm very concerned. They have ruled out meningitis.
Question Category : Fever
I am a concerned neighbor. My neighbor has two sons. She has a one year old and a two year old. Both of them have seizures when they have fevers. I believe the condition is called "Febrile seizures." Well, they don't have any medical insurance and the doctor they do see only prescribes: ammoxicillan and albuterol for the two. Both have fevers that are going on three days. Is there any chance that the children might have meningitis or do you have any other suggestions on what these parents should be looking for other than a simple fever and ear infection?.
