My wife is pregnant for three months. (Last period was on MAY 16th 2007.)She had some Rashes and mild fever for three days on 11-June 2007. We suspected German measles infection and tested for TORCH on 11-August 2007 (two months after the rashes and fever appeared) the result was ELISA for RUBELLA IgG Antibody: POSITIVE >250 IU/ml ELISA for RUBELLA IGM Antibody : NEGATIVE As the gynecologist said no problem / no infection. As I heard the Rubella infection is a high risk for the unborn and again we have done Rubella test on 4-Sept -2007 the result was RUBELLA IgG Antibody (ELFA) :POSITIVE >400 UI/ml RUBELLA IGM Antibody (ELFA) : NEGATIVE My concerns are Any risk for the unborn? How log the IgM antibodies will present on the body, if she had an infection. Is there is any way we can find a recent rubella infection (within 3- 4 months)? Any remedy if it was Rubella infection? Dear Doc I had Serum Rubella IgG And IgM positive Jan 2005.I had a miscarriage then at ten weeks gestation. I rechecked my Serum Rubella IgG and IgM levels for rubella last week and again both the values are positive.
